To acquire topographic data for engineering and monitoring of mining.

Background
Ipoh is the capital city of the state of Perak, also the mining center of Malaysia. The survey zone is located in a mine group, 7 kilometers southeast of the center of Ipoh, with steep height difference (45-380m) and dense vegetation.

Requirements
Area Size: 1.25 square kilometres
Service: 1:500 topographic survey
Output Demand: DEM, DSM, contours, geo-reference pointcloud, DOM
Accuracy Expectation: 10cm vertical
Project Duration: one month

Preparations
1. 1-days site visit, to select a location for a GNSS base station, and 2 locations for take-off and landing.
2. Determined flight altitute of aerial laser scanning and image capturing.

Fieldwork
Part 1: LiDAR survey - aerial data capture
Equipment: UAV-based LiDAR system, multi-rotor UAV + Mini LIDAR system SZT-R250 (measuring range 250m)
Part 2: UAV photogrammetry - orthophoto imagery data capture
Equipment: UAV with SONY ILCE a6000 and PPK module
10 flights of aerial laser scanning, 2 days.
2 flights of aerial image capturing, 1 day.

Data Process
Accuracy verification: 1 day
DEM/DTM, contours, vector line map: 10 days
Orthophoto map: 2 days
